George O. Roberts, Jr., 67, of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Roberts was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late George O. Roberts, Sr. He was retired from the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harris Roberts; three sons, Kelly Roberts and his wife, Karon, of Raleigh, NC, Marty Roberts and his wife, Teresa, of Midlothian, VA, Nicky Roberts and his wife, Karan, of Knightdale, NC; his mother, Dorothy Roberts Curling and her husband, Harold, of Roanoke Rapids; seven grandchildren, Lauran, Kelsey, Cassidy, Maegan, Joseph, Karson and Makenna Roberts; a brother, Wayne Roberts and his wife, Angie, of Raleigh, NC, and a sister, Cheryl Jordan of Roanoke Rapids.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy King officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
